Camryn Benson and Peyton Benson, sisters and teammates for three-time Class 5A state champion Lucas Lovejoy High in Texas, join DyeStat editor Erik Boal to discuss Lovejoy XC Club competing in the girls championship race Nov. 18 at the Nike South Regional at Bear Branch Park. Camryn Benson, a sophomore, finished 27th at NXR South last season and senior Peyton Benson earned 30th for Lovejoy, which became the first Class 5A girls program in Texas history to advance to Nike Cross Nationals following a runner-up performance. Both sisters placed in the top 125 at Nike Cross Nationals to contribute to Lovejoy achieving a 14th-place team finish at Glendoveer Golf Course in Portland, Ore. Lovejoy is scheduled to race against reigning NXR South champion Carroll XC and Flower Mound XC Club, with all three programs advancing to NXN to represent Texas and the regional last season.
